Summer Holiday Grant 2026

3rd August 2026

Let June has once again supported children across North Kirklees to stay active, engaged and entertained during the summer holidays by offering grants to every school in the area.

Primary schools were eligible for £500, while secondary schools could receive £750. Each school chose how to spend its grant to best support pupils, with purchases including a range of indoor and outdoor activities such as footballs, scooters, sports equipment, skipping ropes, bats and balls, as well as books and arts and crafts.

As well as providing children with fun and engaging activities during the holidays, schools reported positive benefits for pupils’ social and physical development.

In total 51 schools applied for a Summer Holiday Grant, with £27,500 given away to support children and young people across North Kirklees.
