Let June Make A Difference announced as Bangla Lounge’s Charity of the Year

We are honoured to have been selected as Bangla Lounge’s ‘Charity of the Year’. Every year this Bangladeshi restaurant in Birstall holds an event to mark its anniversary which raises funds for a local charity. Our namesake, June, was a regular at Bangla Lounge and when owner Abdul Kahar heard about the charity set up in her memory, decided that Let June Make A Difference would be the recipient of the 2016 award. Trustees Graham and Colin (who are still regulars!) attended and gave a presentation about our work to the room. Also present were Abdul Kahar and guest of honour the Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Jim Dodds, and his wife Carol.

The event was sold out and the proceeds from the evening raised the fantastic sum of £1,100. These funds will enable Let June Make A Difference to award even more grants to local children in North Kirklees.
